Andre Luiz Soares, (Gigueto), has been practicing the Martial Arts since the age of nine, when he first started Judo, a Martial Art that he trained in to the age fifteen years old. At this time Gigueto initiated to undertake the art of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, becoming a prominent world class competitor of the sport. During these years, Andres Soares perfected the advanced techniques needed to receive his black belt by his Instructor Marcos Aurelio in Fortaleza - Brazil, the place of his home. Currently, Gigueto runs a BJJ school and has built a team of BJJ fighters in Brazil consisting of many athletes of prominence and is in the process of building a great team of BJJ / grapplers as well as MMA athletes in the United States. In 2002 Gigueto was the silver medalist in the World Championship of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu (Brazil - RJ), also known as the Mundials. In 2003, he was the bronze medalist in the World Championship of Jiu-jitsu and again the silver medalist in the World Cup of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (Brazil - RJ). In 1998 Gigueto again won another bronze medal at the Mundials (Brazil - RJ) and was also the Brazilian Champion of Jiu-jitsu in the category rooster weight. In 2007, Gigueto was the silver medalist in the World Championship of Jiu-Jitsu (California - USA). Gigueto brought his immece knowledge and achievment to the USA in 2004 where he was recruited into the world reknowned American Top Team (ATT) and has fought and won many grappling tournaments such as 5 time Champion of Naga, 3 time Champion of Grapplers Quest, one time Champion of Arnold Schwarzenegger's Arnold Classic, World Gracie Submission Championships and third place in the Panamericano Championship in 2004. Gigueto initiated his career in MMA with the record of 5 wins (in the USA) and 2 defeat. Andre's goal is to continue his career as a world class fighter / grappler and to continue providing new athletes with world class training and to contribute in the growth Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
